Bloggy brilliant!

I was just going about my business today, trying to tidy up the house, keep on top of emails, get the newborn clothes washed and ironed and attempting to teach myself the art of knitting in the round (as you do on a Wednesday morning) when the postman turned up with a mysterious package.  I LOVE getting parcels in the post and never moreso than when I haven’t actually ordered anything myself – presents are even more exciting when the postie brings them!

But you could have knocked me down with a feather when I opened said box and inside found a lovely letter and a scrummy iced biscuit from Azaria PR, telling me MumUnplugged had won one of their ‘Bloggy Brilliant’ awards!  Sometimes as a blogger you feel like you’re operating in a vacuum – there’s not always a lot of feedback and it can be hard to keep motivated so to get a special treat like this is just lovely and a big thanks must go to Sam and everyone at Azaria for recognising little ol’ me :)

P.S. I can’t bring myself to eat the biscuit.  I think I’ll put it on my memo board instead!

Hello! I’m Claire and welcome to MumUnplugged! I started this blog in 2008 following the birth of my son; I was bored on maternity leave from my job as a magazine editor, and besides feeling a pathological urge to just write something, I wanted to put my own experiences as a first time mum out there for others to share. I’m just a normal mum like any other – I have good days and bad days, days when I feel confident in my ability to raise this little human I created and others when I wonder why on earth I ever thought I could handle it! Through my career in publishing I’ve also developed a passion for trend-spotting and tracking down the latest products so you’ll also find lots of news, reviews, fashion, topical features and much more.     Well done you!! That is brilliant, see there are people outside your vacuum who appreciate all those hours you put in.
    Please eat the biscuit! You deserve it. Maybe take a pic of it and put that on your memo board. A biscuit on the memo board may have the midwife querying your sanity ;) Em xx
