And he’s off!

I feel slightly embarrassed to be posting this now, when Bubs is almost 14 months old, but I am nonetheless proud to announce that today, after many months of flailing around on his tummy, moaning at me to fetch things for him and general, obstinate stationary-ness…Bubs crawled!!  This morning he went a tiny way on a quest to grab my (thankfully stone cold) hair straighteners, and then later at the childminder’s he quite simply took off across the living room in pursuit of a toy digger.  As if he’d been doing it all his life.  I’ve seen the proof in video on her mobile phone but as is always the case, Bubs refuses to ‘perform’ on demand and so I’ve not seen it with my own eyes yet.  I tried teasing him with a choc chip cookie earlier but all he could muster was a weird crab-like half crawl, half bum-shuffle manoeuvre.  Still, it’s progress; he is finally on the move!

I started this blog in 2008 following the birth of my son; I was bored on maternity leave from my job as a magazine editor, and besides feeling a pathological urge to just write something, I wanted to put my own experiences as a first time mum out there for others to share.     hurrah. Any way to send us the video? Mobile bubs, not long till we have to run after him, rather than walk behind him! :D
