It all becomes clear…

OK so maybe I should take back my comments about daylight savings…this morning I found the tiniest tooth! Which I suppose would explain the broken sleep and general grumpiness – although I’m sure the clock change didn’t help. Ahh my baby boy is getting all grown up…let’s just hope he doesn’t decide to test his new fang on my nipples eh?

About Claire

Hello! I’m Claire and welcome to MumUnplugged! I started this blog in 2008 following the birth of my son; I was bored on maternity leave from my job as a magazine editor, and besides feeling a pathological urge to just write something, I wanted to put my own experiences as a first time mum out there for others to share. I’m just a normal mum like any other – I have good days and bad days, days when I feel confident in my ability to raise this little human I created and others when I wonder why on earth I ever thought I could handle it! The most important thing I’ve learned from becoming a mum is that there’s nothing like advice from other mums who’ve been in your shoes – and I hope that by reading my experiences and those of others, visitors to MumUnplugged will find inspiration, advice and support for their journey through motherhood. Through my career in publishing I’ve also developed a passion for trend-spotting and tracking down the latest products so you’ll also find lots of news, reviews, fashion, topical features and much more. I really hope you enjoy the site – don’t forget to check out our forums (coming soon!) and keep your eyes peeled for great competitions and giveaways. If there’s anything you’d like to see on MumUnplugged then I’d love to hear from you – email mumunplugged@googlemail.com, follow me on Twitter, check out the Facebook page - or just leave me a comment!

oh little alfie is becoming a boy!!! Woo hoo, I’m delighted, but be warned now the trouble, sleepless nights, marmalade nappies and all the rest really does start!!! ha ha… (I shouldn’t really laugh, Saf still doesnt have all her teeth)

You should get Ambiscol- its a tiny bottle of genius! A bit like whisky, like your mum prob used, only if you buy it from Boots Pharmacy it won’t feel like your making ur baby drunk!!

I’ve been racking my brain for about a day now trying to remember what it was we had used on us as kids.

the ambesol was one thing, but there was something else too… lovely taste, rubbed onto the gums.

Glad I can be of absolutely no help whatsoever!

Bonjela, xbox? It’s such a letdown though, like you i remember it tasting really nice but now I’m all grown up it’s vile. Bubs is addicted though, he loves the stuff! That and this weird teething powder, he vibrates with excitement when he sees the little sachet coming. My baby, the cokehead lol!

Yes! that’s the stuff, that and gripe water.

I’m sure I’ve taken a bottle of that to school for lunch on more than one occasion.

Ha ha yeah the gripe water is good…I’ve been known to sneak a bit for myself on occasion. It’s the closest thing to gin I can get at the minute! You’ve got all this illicit baby drug-taking to look forward to!
